Welcome to our new website!
Fight On! is back with new action-packed issues - #16 coming your way January 2025!
To celebrate our return we recently had an art contest in honor of David A. Trampier and David C. Sutherland III! Judged by fantasy art super-legend Erol Otus, as well as OSR creative maestros Peter Mullen and Gabor Lux, we are proud to announce our WINNERS!
The Black & White Category was packed with awesome entries – there were at least thirty pieces beyond the winners we’d be proud to print in our pages – but eventually, after some very difficult tiebreaking, we found a champion – but that was it, we settled on a FOUR WAY tie for second place. Winners are:
1st Place:
Cameron Hawkey, “The Meeting”
2nd Place (tie):
Rick Base, “Broo Pencils”
J. Blasso-Gieseke, “Treerot”
Steve Queen, “Pit Fiend”
Frank Scacalossi, “Thief’s Repose”
Congratulations to all four of you! Astonishing work in a variety of unique styles!
The Color Category had five winners as well!
A tie for 3rd place went to two amazing dragons – one red from Mitzi Stidd, and one blue from DeWayne Rogers. Congratulations to both of you!
A tie for 2nd place went to two winners who also won prizes in other categories – Cameron Hawkey for “The Tower” and Paul Carrick for his magisterial orc warrior!
And our 1st place color submission was…”Tramp and Wormy in Gamma World,” an amazing tribute painting by Dan Sousa you’ll have to see to believe.
We also had our special prizes for work reminiscent of, in the style of, as a homage to, or otherwise inspired by or reminiscent of our two dedicatees. These works also received some votes in other categories, but they won these:
The Trampier Prize goes to Paul Carrick’s “Beholder” – an amazing action shot, and
The Sutherland Prize goes to Daniel Scherrey’s “Bulette” – ditto!
All of these works will be found on the covers (color) or in the pages (B&W) of Fight On! issues 17–21. Look out for them and these artists! Artists, we will be contacting you at the emails you sent your images in to find out how you would like to receive your prizes, and with comments from the judges – ALL prizes will be paid at the FULL level advertised even where there are ties.
Thank you, all of you, whether you won or not, for your participation!
